NHL Launching a Hockey Collectibles NFT Marketplace

The National Hockey League has big NFT plans, and it’s ready to share most of them with the whole world. The NHL, along with its Alumni Association and Players’ Association, announced on Thursday that it has teamed up with NFT platform Sweet to create a unique NFT marketplace and collections of NFTs, which are unique blockchain tokens that show ownership. In an interview with Decrypt, David Lehanski, the league’s executive vice president of business development and innovation, said that the NHL’s marketplace will be somewhere between a full-fledged NFT trading platform and a site that gives out NFT drops for a limited time. The NHL wants to give fans a little bit of both by building an NFT marketplace with exclusive drops. The NHL’s Sweet marketplace should be up and running by October, just in time for the 2022-2023 season. But there’s also a bit of gaming going on here. Lehanski told Decrypt that the NHL wants to make NFTs more like games by adding “questing and c…

Keanu Reeves jumps on the NFT Bandwagon

Neo has swallowed the red pill. The Futureverse Foundation is a group that works on NFTs and art in the metaverse. Keanu Reeves and his partner, Alexandra Grant, have joined the group. The star of The Matrix wants you to know that he and Grant, an artist, are serious about NFTs. He means what he says. The Hollywood Reporter says that the Futureverse Foundation is a new charity that will help artists make and sell their work in the metaverse as NFTs, which they haven’t explained. It is counting on the fact that NFTs will be a real form of art with real value instead of just an abstract idea that can be easily copied as fakes. “The Futureverse Foundation seems to me to be an idea. If this chance to build a new economy based on cultural exchange is real, how do we do it?” Grant said this to The Hollywood Reporter. “It’s new for…

Don’t Get Airdrop Scammed

What's getting "airdrop scammed?" It's bad...very bad. The Airdrop scam involves sending a free NFT to your wallet. Then, when you go to their website to sell it, they gain access to your wallet by asking for approval permissions. With one click of the link they have access to everything in your wallet. Yikes! According to the Stop NFT Scams website, "If an airdropped NFT or Token is requiring you to provide an approval, transaction fee, or needing to go to an unknown website to connect your wallet to allow you to interact with and move them, you should stop what you are doing and not interact with them. "In most cases, the tokens cannot actually be removed or sold, they are simply a fake honeypot without any real value. The NFTs likewise would not bring any real value as no one would actually want to interact with them." Remember, beware of free NFT giveaways that come from strange or unknown websites. Here's a must-read article about the airdrop scam: https://stopn…
